Artist Speak is a company founded by Michael & Catharina Plen, providing marketing and insight services for artistry & music that include Marketing, Promotion, Sync, Artist Development, Tour Mktg, Sound editing and executive music strategy. Michael was an executive at A&M Records in the years they gave artists careers in the 70's. Helped start IRS Records at the beginning and was head of promotion for their first iconic 7 years. Helped start Virgin Records in America... SVP of Promotion there for 17 years. Worked at Sanctuary Management and label and Gary Gersh Management, 5 years as head of marketing at Shangri-La Music, 3+ years running licensing and promotion/label at FADER....and most recently 6.5+ years as VP of Marketing and Promotion at Ingrooves, which included label services. Catharina was a key publicity executive at Virgin, American manager of Opium Arts, King Crimson, John Paul Jones, David Sylvian, California Guitar Trio as well as Los Lobos & Cracker. She was also a studio engineer at Clover, Sunset Sound Factory and Redondo Pacific.
