Paid: Yes
Time: 3 Days, minimum, on-site
Hours: 11am-5pm

Location: Greenpoint, Brooklyn


Mexican Summer and its affiliate publisher Sunset Songs are looking for an A&R Coordinator to join our team as a paid intern. The role will provide valuable exposure to the artist and repertoire process while focusing on essential administrative and operational support to the department. It is essential that any candidate be familiar with the label, its culture and its artists – and that they have a passion for discovering emerging talent. It’s important that they be organized and detail-oriented individuals who can multitask, deliver under deadlines, and are in possession of a strong desire to understand the larger music business infrastructure. The internship is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, so NYC applicants are preferred.



Responsibilities
  • Provide general administrative support and correspondence to the A&R team on various activities, including booking studio time, scheduling co-writing/production sessions, mastering sessions, travel arrangements, submitting expense reports, mailing promos and documents, email follow up, etc.
  • Work collaboratively w/ A&R team to deliver creative assets on a project-to-project basis
  • Aggregate and organize meta-data and assets for label + publisher projects (core track/alb info, creative credits, publishing info/writer splits/PRO info)
  • Helping w/ meeting prep + coordination and taking minutes/notes
  • Update Filemaker database w/ incoming sync licenses
  • Disco catalog organization and upkeep, track tagging + playlist generation
  • Screen incoming demo submissions
  • R&D for potential artists
  • Collaborate with A&R in identifying exciting emerging talent + ideate on collaborative sessions, marketing as needed



Skills
  • Studying or currently in a program related to music, business, or marketing
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication + writing skills
  • Familiarity with independent record labels and associated music
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Workspace, File mgmt (Dropbox, Wetransfer, etc), familiarity with platforms such as DISCO, Luminate, and MLC Public Database a major plus
