Founded in 2000, Six Shooter Records/Six Shooter Management comprise one of Canada’s leading independent music companies, with over 100 album releases and an active roster of Polaris, Juno and other award-winning, acclaimed Canadian and international artists. Presidents Shauna de Cartier and Helen Britton have built the company on principles of artistic excellence, creativity, operational expertise, diversity, empowerment, and entrepreneurial spirit. Extending the strategic artist development frame, Six Shooter also owns a publishing company and several music festivals including the Interstellar Rodeo; we currently employ 14 staff and are based in Toronto, Canada with satellites in Alberta, BC and Manitoba. Six Shooter is distributed in Canada through Universal Music and worldwide through The Orchard. Our artists include neo-bluegrass breakthrough The Dead South, future soul/R&B artist Zaki Ibrahim, multi-instrumentalist folk-rock-blues duo Whitehorse, experimental Inuk vocalist and Polaris Prize winner Tanya Tagaq, among others – all hardworking artists with killer live shows.
