Founded in 1984 by musician and artist Chris Harford, Soul Selects began as a DIY imprint for Harford’s genre-blending early recordings. After a brief major-label period in the early ’90s, Harford continued releasing music independently, keeping Soul Selects alive as a home for his evolving catalog and collaborators. Revitalized during the COVID-19 era, the label has grown into a modern creative hub supporting adventurous artists across rock, dub, experimental, and poetic songwriting. Today, Soul Selects continues its long tradition of championing boundary-pushing, heartfelt music rooted in community and artistic freedom.
